Fenerbahce, of our players Melissa Vargas, Ana Antonijevic, coached by Zoran Terzic and Zeljko Bulatovic achieved victory in the second leg in Pool E Poland’s Chemik Police.
In the second leg of CEV Champions League Fenerbahce downed Police after just 74 minutes of game 3:0 (25:12, 25:16, 25:22). Mellisa Vargas achieved 23 points and was the best player of the game, and with three aces she was also the best server.
Shortly before the start of the match, Zoran Terzic received from CEV Vice President and Treasurer Ozkan Mutlugil the award for the Women’s Team Coach of the Year following his success with Team Serbia at the FIVB World Championship in Japan. After the match he said: “We played a really good game tonight. We didn’t have many good games recently and I was a little bit concerned before tonight. But the girls played really well from the start, with a lot of patience, a lot of energy and a lot of motivation, so I should be happy and satisfied.”
